Watch this video and please try and not puke. What this lady needs is not to have her house saved but to have it taken away and move into a house they can afford.

My bus drivers growing up could never afford a house like that...

I'll let this video tell the story for me. It doesn't matter what color your skin is. If you are out of work you are hurting...

The best person for the job should always be the case anything else is just wrong. I know I want the most qualified person working on the roads I drive on that is for sure.

Today was a day full of hope (unless you are on the stock market). For the first time since I can remember we have a feeling of hope. Hope that the corruption will end. Hope that this nightmare will end. Hope that this waste of a war will end. Hope that we can right this ship and start feeling good again.

All I can say to bush and cheney is "na na na na, na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, goodbye!". Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I really hope that those assholes get arrested.

Think again buddy. You've got nothing but sh*t hanging over you. And I hope it gets thrown on your face.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested today on federal corruption charges. This man was auctioning off Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder.

Some of the the stuff coming out about this is disgusting.

The governor also often weighed the option of appointing himself to the Senate seat, saying he was "stuck" at governor and might have access to more resources as a senator than as a governor, the affidavit says. A Senate seat could also help him remake his image ahead of a possible presidential run in 2016. "If ... they're not going to offer anything of any value, then I might just take it," he said in one conversation.

"I want to make money," Blagojevich said, according to the affidavit.

Does anyone believe this sort of thing doesn't happen all the time? If someone gets caught for it it just means he was holding out for too much. Alas this recession is even hurting the political hacks now.

If you are in a job interview and someone asks you a question related to your job is an appropriate response "I'll go see if I can find out and bring it to you"? Do you think you would get the job?

Good job america. Please don't let this bitch out of alaska anymore.

I've always had my doubts with the government. I don't believe we've been to the moon - yet (with the Chinese ramping up its efforts we'll have to go for real this time). I stumbled upon these sites the other day and I got to say not enough questions have been asked.

From http://patriotsquestion911.com/

Letter to the Editor 2/5/07: Regarding 9/11 "Our government has been hijacked by means of a "new Pearl Harbor" and a lot of otherwise good and decent people who are gullible enough to think that the first three steel-framed buildings in history fall down because they have some fires that the fire fighter on the scene said could be knocked down with a couple of hoses and through which people walked before they were photographed looking out the holes where the plane hit . One of these - bldg 7, was never hit by a plane and even NIST is ashamed to advance a reason for its collapse. And, miracle of miracles, these three buildings just happened to be leased and insured by the same guy who is on tape saying they decided to "PULL" the last one to fall." http://michigandaily.com

[Editor's note: WTC Building 7 was 610 feet tall, 47 stories. It would have been the tallest building in 33 states. Although it was not hit by an airplane, it completely collapsed into a pile of rubble in less than 7 seconds at 5:20 p.m. on 9/11, seven hours after the collapses of the Twin Towers. However, no mention of its collapse appears in the 9/11 Commission's "full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks." Watch the collapse video here. And six years after 9/11, the Federal government has yet to publish its promised final report that explains the cause of its collapse.]

Watch more of it here: http://911revisited.com/

Do I believe this to be true? No, and man I hope it isn't. But why aren't we asking more questions? I'll tell you why. Our government at the highest level is insanely corrupt. And the other levels are just sheeps to the executive branch/corporations. This shit makes me sick to my stomach.

It looks like tonight could be a historic night. Well we knew it was coming but tonight should be the night we have a real democratic candidate.

I agree with about 60% of what Obama says/plans.

I agree with about 20% of what Mcain says/plans.

I agree with about 80% of what Ron Paul says/plans.

With this election coming into focus I find myself, like always, thinking about the election process. And I am reminded that I live in a democractic state so most likely my vote doesn't really matter at all. I really wonder what would happen if we had a true popular vote. The days of having people to stupid to actually vote for a president are over (Truely how is this a democracy if you have to have an electoral college).

Since we do have the current state of affairs (electoral college) heres an idea along the same non-democratic lines. Lets let your be worth more based on how much you pay in taxes. I mean you are voting for the people that spend your taxes (think Iraq) so if you pay a shit load in taxes shouldn't your vote be worth more than the people in the middle of the country where your cost of living is a tenth of those in other locations? Maybe this is just crazy but really anything makes more sense then the electoral college.

I love the "rock the vote" stuff you see out close to elections. I think the people they are targetting are just too smart to fall for that shit. If you really want me to vote make it count.

Get your elitist electoral college off my election!

Or should I say the dollar is falling!

The dollar has hit a record low and oil has hit a record high today.  Not a good combination.

Not much I can say but WTF is going on?  Who is running this country?  Let's keep fighting a trillion dollar war - for oil (don't kid yourself).   That's the answer.  Stop fucking around and go seize the oil.  You seize "hacker" hardware every day what's the difference?   The court of public opinion you say?  I'm pretty sure everyone already thinks we are the devil anyways.  Embrace it.

Some really scarry news -

"Traders also weighed a report from Zawya Dow Jones that said the United Arab Emirates was deciding whether to continue pegging its currency to the plummeting U.S. dollar.

In January, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamed bin Jassem Al Thani said his country was also reconsidering its link to the dollar."

from http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080312/dollar.html?.v=3 that is really really a bad sign.

Oh I've got it.  Let's pay every american $300 that solves everything.  Where does that money end up going?  "Made in China"

This clip from the 2003 ABC show NYPD blue merits a 1.43 Million dollar fine. Five years after the episode aired! Now the scene isn't that racey and I am all about parents monitoring what their kids watch - so I think this should be moot - but I can see somewhat the issue because this originally aired over network television and not cable.

The really stupid thing about this is now that the fine is coming out so far after aired, it's too late to make an example of NYPD or ABC. The net effect is the FCC gets paid and 1.2 Million people have viewed the clip on youtube.

No wonder we are entering a recession! How many people are ABC going to have to fire after this one?

Turning on your TV is a decision and the government shouldn't get involved anyway (live free or die anyone?), no one has a gun to your head. I have never been scar'd for life by anything I have scene on any TV. I certainly have changed the channel because things are too far out or too graphic violence. But these are choices I have the freedom to make. I value that more than some kid being tramatized for seeing a naked butt for the first time because some asshole parent parked the kid in front of the TV. Most kids get cinemax anyway....11PM skinamax starts!!

The whole primary processes is fucked. First off why would anyone ever listen to what the people in the middle of america think. Iowa? Then New Hampshire? Two of the biggest yahoo states in the union. And for weeks they are talking about how it is decisive wins for the candidates if they win those states.

If I listened to Iowa, and a republican, I would be voting Mike Huckabee. A man that doesn't believe in evolution. Thinks the war is a good idea. Wants to kick 12 million people out of this country. Is against abortions. Is against gay-marriage, and civil unions. and was recently quoted saying that he would rather change the constitution than the bible. Can anyone say separation between church and state?

Seriously why don't we just vote on the internet? Real time. Or at least let states that matter (read: intelligent coastal states) have the first go round.

In keeping with this administrations status quo the government has come out and said that we shouldn't care about our privacy anymore.  We should redifine what privacy is because the thought of being anonymous in anything is just stupid.

From the article Donald Kerr, the principal deputy director of national intelligence says "Protecting anonymity isn't a fight that can be won. Anyone that's typed in their name on Google understands that."  OK - there is a huge difference between google having my information and the government having easy access to anything I type into google.  He goes on to say that kids today give away more and more informations on sites such as this one.  Well you join a site like this knowing that what you do will be publically searchable - if you so choose.  Any good social networking site should let you define what gets shared and what doesn't.

What the government really should be doing is talking to companies like Google, MySpace and Facebook and making laws to restrict them from sharing user information and not allowing them to use the information they have in certain ways.

The real difference here is that a company can only do so much with my information were as the governement has no end to what it will do with that information.  And until we stop torrturing people in Cuba the government can't say they can be trusted with my information.  If I don't like how a private company uses my information I stop using their service, thus they lose revenue and change their ways.  It's a lot harder to change your country.

People always come back and say if you don't have anything to hide why do you care.  This is a slippery slop.  Image forward a few months/years after they have forfitted whatever rights you used to have and you search for "tax breaks" or "tax loopholes" and the next year you are audited.  Is that a wonderful coincidence or something more sinister.  It has happend in every great empire - the sentiments  "Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely" have been proven true many a times.

Shocking news: The government has been abusing its powers in the name of protecting us.  Of course it has taken a long time for anyone to stand up and speak about it.  I guess the judicial branch is the only one left with any respect for the constitution.  The patriot act has been a blank check for the different agencies to do anything they want.  Maybe this will change things?  Probably will get appealed away or at least draw the status quo on for anothe couple of year.

Can we get a government that actually represents us?  Is that too much to ask?

http://newsite.michaelrighi.com/2007/09/01/arrested-at-circuit-city/

This guy was arrested at a circuit city in ohio for refusing to first show his receipt then his license.  It's a ridiculous story that involves the man calling the police for support and the police then demanding that he showed his license.  No law says you need to show anyone you receipt or your license.  Your license is only for driving, the man wasn't driving.  We don't have a univeral ID (for now) for a reason - people like/deserve privacy.  This man was doing absolutely nothing wrong and I hope he ends up sueing the police department for a ton of money.  Everyone knows the only way the police or circuit city would change is if it hurts the pocket.

I'm so sick of stores treating you like a criminal when you make a purchase.  The ridiculous thing is that if I was going to steal something, which I wouldn't, I wouldn't be buying anything!  I would just take it.  And they put the security guy right behind the checkout.  What can I put in my bag in the 10ft between the two?  It's nice to see someone stand up to this crap.  Good luck buddy.

Our president in his infinite wisdom has decided yet again that everyone else in the country is stupid and he should just be king. He has pardoned the former white house aid. While he "respects" the Jury's verdict he thinks the punishment was to harsh. Translation: If I 100% pardon him people will actually pay attention and maybe do something.

We live in a world where Paris Hilton is more willing to do her time than people who work in the white house? Awesome.

Can we impeach the son-of-a-bitch already? Anyone who doesn't see how evilly this country is being led has their eyes sewed shut.

Following the issuance of subpeonas for the white house and Dick cheney's office. Our leaders have stated that they have no intentions to comply with the wire tap.

First off I thought subpeonas were a very legal thing.  Say I was to gert one from the RIAA.  Do I have the option to just totally ignore it?  No.  You have to get your ass into the courts and make fight to maintain your innocene (over the last few years this has changed a lot from the whole innocent until proven guilty bullshit).  So are our leaders saying they can do whatever they want and ignore legal request?

The bottom line is they did things that were very wrong.  You can't just make up your own rules.  It would be nice to see them all getting dragged out in hand cufts.

In my previous post I said that someone needs to kick the FCC chairman in the balls.  That isn't quite what happend but pretty darn close.

Take a look!

It looks like the courts actually care about the constitution.  They have told the FCC that they aren't allowed to censor things that they don't like for no apparent reason.  Which is something that 99% of America already gets but apparently the appointed leaders don't seem to jive.

Check out this WSJ article

The FCC wants to add more regulation to the cable companies to "protect the children". Now unless I am mistaken you have to pay for cable don't you? So if I am a parent and I don't want my kids to see violence on TV what am I to do??? Oh ya. I don't buy cable. Its that easy. If you must watch episodes of girls next door then you just use one of the million parental controls tools on every cable box ever made to limit what your little shits watch.

I am so sick of hearing cries of "protect the children" as an excuse for everything. Last time I checked its the parents job to protect their kids. If your willing to let the government do this then you are heading down a trecherous path. I can see a future where everyone (accept the rich/powerful) has a camera in his/her house the watches everything you do...in the name of the children of course. Someone should kick the FCC chairman in the balls

Keep your laws off my cable. Keep your ideals your own and don't tell me what I should think.

from http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/04/03/senate.funds/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

"I've made it clear for weeks that if either the House or Senate version of this bill comes to my desk, I will veto it," the president said.

"And they need to come off their vacation, get a bill to my desk."

ok. so you want them to send you a bill just so you can veto it? What so you can feel powerful? So what happens if the money doesn't get sent? I would assume that means the troops have to go home. Then the senate is getting what they want without having to deal with King George. I don't think that is what will happen. You will see some sort of compromise, hopefully it calls for withdrawl but with an undisclosed date. But the way his brain works I just don't get it.
